It is said that spending time in front of the computer can be detrimental to your eyes, however, I used to spend almost 10 hours a day in front of it and have never had any problems. Some have started wearing glasses after only a couple of years of intensive computer use, but I’ve used it for over 10 years and my sight was perfect.

I was quite proud of my vision and liked testing it on all kinds of things. I used to try reading the license plate of moving cars, or the small text under a TV advertisement, from far away. My friends advised me to stop pushing my luck, and try spending less time in front of the computer. They said my eyes will certainly be affected in the future, but I had my doubts.

Since my parents, who agreed with my friends, were pestering me to take up a sport, I decided to please them and try jogging. A quick search online revealed the best equipment to buy, and the best time of the day to start jogging. After learning everything I needed to know, I was all set.

I was really happy with my choice of equipment, as my sneakers made running much easier, and the  sansa c250 2gb  was a joy to listen to. Quite cheap, and with very good sound quality, the player really was much better than I had expected. I even ended up listening to music on it, instead of my computer, due to its better quality.

I don’t spend less time in front of the PC, but jogging has opened my eyes and I have started taking better care of my body. My physical condition is much better, and that is clearly visible, while my friends and family are very proud of my achievement. I personally like the idea that I can have better health while still enjoying doing what I love to do–computer work. There’s a fantastic feeling knowing that! 

 

How Do You Measure Your Pupillary Distance?

Appraising your PD:

This measurement is the distance between the centre of your pupils that is measured in millimetres.

Opticians do not tend to give out this measurement as it encourages patients to buy their spectacles from them whereas you can buy cheap spectacles online or designer glasses at a fraction of the price online. It is commonly noted as one measurement like 60 (60mm) but could also be registered as R 29 L 31. This is the easiest method for measuring you PD. With your friend sitting opposite you at the same height ask them to place a ruler across your forehead just above your eyes with the millimetre side facing upwards.

Next ask your friend to close their right eye and you then look directly into their left eye. Call For your colleague to slide the ruler to bring about the zero value is in the centre of your right pupil and to maintain the rule very secure across your forehead. So, now look straight into your friends right eye with them closing their left eye.
